Dalian Garment Export Down 3% in Jan-May 2017

For January-May this year, Dalian Customs District posted garment exports totaling CNY 8.47 billion, down 3% year-on-year (YOY).
For May alone, Dalian garment export reached 1.53 billion yuan, down 3% YOY and up 2.4% from April.
Japan, South Korea and the EU were the major markets. In January-May, the export to Japan reached 3.13 billion yuan, up 8.6% YOY; export to South Korea reached 2.02 billion yuan, down 22.2% YOY; export to the EU reached 1.36 billion yuan, up 0.8% YOY; the three together accounted for 76.9% of the total export.
For May alone, Dalian garment export reached 1.53 billion yuan, down 3% YOY and up 2.4% from April.
