Hangzhou Export Up 3.8% in Jan-Oct 2017

According to Hangzhou Customs statistics, in October 2017, Hangzhou City export and import totaled RMB 40.99 billion yuan, up 14.3% year-on-year (YOY), including export value 27.62 billion yuan, up 5.3% and import value 13.37 billion yuan, up 38.9%; from January to October, Hangzhou's export and import totaled 413.29 billion yuan, up 13.8% YOY, including export value 280.78 billion yuan, up 3.8% and import value 132.51 billion yuan, up 43.0%.

Steady growth in European-American markets, a slight decline in exports to ASEAN. In October, Hangzhou trade with top three export markets, EU, USA and ASEAN, reached 8.19 billion yuan, 6.59 billion yuan and 5.17 billion yuan respectively, up 18.4%, 4.4% and 14.3% YOY, accounting for 48.7% of the total trade value. Therein, exports to the EU and the USA increased by 9.4% and 1.4% respectively, while export to ASEAN declined by 0.9%. The trade with “Belt & Road” countries was better than the overall performance, with export value up 8.3% and import value up 78.2% respectively.
