14-03-2008 Die Jungen Wilden: eight weeks of Danish design in Stuttgart

An eight-week exhibition campaign for Danish design-led furniture and lighting is off and running in Stuttgart, a city in south-west Germany.

Titled “Die Jungen Wilden”, fourteen Danish manufacturers of design-led furniture and lighting present a varied, topical selection of their product ranges until 16 April. The participants are Bent Krogh, Borks, Danerka, Four Design, Fredericia Furniture, Fritz Hansen, Globe Zero4, Holmris, Lightyears, Louis Poulsen, Montana, One Collection, Omann and Sorø Møbler.

The exhibition concept – based on products by young designers – targets professional decision-makers for furnishing and interior design projects, i.e. architects and business customers, throughout southern Germany. Most exhibitors have a fine network of agents in the area and use the exhibition to find new dealers and customers.

Ten Danish architectural firms present some of their current projects in a separate exhibition.

During the course of the exhibition, a number of events will be held that highlight the interaction between architecture and interior design. Further details about the calendar of events are found at the exhibition’s website, www.daenischesdesign.de.

The Association of Danish Furniture Industries and the Danish Trade Council are responsible for the exhibition campaign together with a number of Danish and German companies and organisations.

The “Die Jungen Wilden” campaign takes place at Haus der Wirtschaft in the centre of Stuttgart. The building houses the local city council and Germany’s oldest centre of design.
