China Plans to Implement Zero Tariffs On 95% Products for the Least Developed Co

News from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on the 23rd said that China will continue to provide the least developed countries zero-tariff treatment to products exported to China in the future in order to increase their exports to China. At present, China has established a zero-tariff implementation plan for nearly 95% of products and planned to start it from 2010.
 
Last September at the United Nations Millennium Development Goals High-level meeting, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced that China would contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by taking six foreign aid initiative in areas such as agriculture, food aid, education and training, health, clean energy, debt-free, zero-tariff treatment which sparked enthusiastic response in the international community. Over the past year, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in conjunction with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and other departments to intensify their assistance in the implementation of the above initiatives.
