The National Development and Reform Commission of China Proposed a Catalog for Waste Electronics Disposal, 5 Kinds of Home Appliances on the List

The first Catalog for waste electric and electronic products disposal has been made public for comment, with 5 kinds of home appliances on the list, such as washing machines, televisions, and computers.
The Catalog covers 5 kinds of electronics, including televisions, washing machines, room air conditioners, microcomputers and electric refrigerators, with well-defined definitions and ranges of products. The products brought into this Catalog observe the following principles: with a large social inventory, a large amount in both wastes and resources recycling, beneficial to the recycling utilization of resources and the industrialization of recycling; harmful to the environment and human health after being discarded; big in size, big in quality, and thus hard to recycle; the recycling needs to be driven by policies; and other electric and electronic products that shall be included into the Catalog considering comprehensively on the resources, environment and tech–economical requirements.
