China Customs Regulation on Importing Non-U.S. Broiler Chicken

Announcement No. 54, 2011 of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC)
To intensify the country-of-origin regulation on white-feather broiler chicken imported via Hong Kong to inland China, relevant matters are hereby announced:
As from September 1, 2011, any importers or import agents, where declaring the import via Hong Kong trans-shipment of white-feather broiler chicken non-originating in the U.S. (HS Codes: 02071100, 02071200, 02071311, 02071319, 02071321, 02071329, 02071411, 02071419, 02071421, 02071422, 02071429 and 05040021), shall submit to China Customs the Letter of Confirmation of the Customs and Excise Department of Hong Kong (see the annex herein) in addition to other required documents as commercial, transportation and origin certificates.
Regarding lack or unavailability of the Hong Kong's Letter of Confirmation, China Customs may resort to rules and provisions stipulated in the GACC's Announcements No. 58 and 64, 2010 or to other Chinese laws and regulations.
