GACC Announcement No. 41, 2012 on New Economic-Division Category & Code

The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC)
To facilitate the development of new economic zones such as Fujian Pingtan Integrated Experimental Area, the GACC has decided to create relevant category and code for that kind of Chinese division of economic zones.
Relevant matters are hereby announced:
Add "Integrated Experimental Area" to China Customs'categories on economic division, granting the code "8" to the fifth digit in enterprises' customs registry codes and China internal destination/origin codes.
The economic division category and code aforesaid shall be applied to Fujian Pingtan Integrated Experimental Area, Guangdong Zhuhai Hengqin New Area, and other similar economic zones approved by the State Council of China.
This Announcement shall come into force from its issue date of August 21, 2012.
