AQSIQ Announcement No.106, 2013 Suspends Poultry & Pork from Chile

Recently, Chile's agricultural bureau announced that Dioxin was detected from two samples of poultry meat in its La arboleda and San Pedro regions.

Hence, in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, the AQSIQ hereby announces that:

1. As of July 26, 2013, any edible poultry products from Chile shall be suspended from importation.

As regards the poultry products from the two regions aforesaid, where being en route or at China ports, return or destruction shall be conducted; as regards the poultry products from other Chilean regions, their importation shall be accompanied by the test reports of stating their freedom from Dioxin; as regards the released products from the two regions, the importers shall recall them.

2. As of July 26, 2013, any edible pig products from the aforesaid two Chilean regions shall be suspended from importation.

As regards the pig products being en route or at China ports, return or destruction shall be conducted; as regards the products from other Chilean regions, their importation shall be accompanied by the test reports of their freedom from Dioxin; as regards the released products from the two regions, the importers shall recall them.

3. As of July 26, 2013, the dairy imports from Chile shall be accompanied by the test reports of their freedom from Dioxin.
