The U.S. Department of Commerce Amends Dumping Duty on Korean Standard Pipe

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced on July 25, 2011 that it has amended the final results of its recently completed administrative review of the antidumping order against circular welded non-alloy steel pipe (standard pipe) from Korea--with respect to Hyundai HYSCO. The review covered the period from November 1, 2008 through October31, 2009.

The DOC had previously assigned Hyundai HYSCO the weighted-average dumping margin of the three Korean producers/exporters that were individually reviewed. However, the DOC has amended that result because Hyundai HYSCO had no reviewable sales during the period of review.

In such circumstances, the DOC does not assign a new cash deposit rate, but instead the company retains its previous rate.

Thus, the dumping duty deposit rate for Hyundai HYSCO will remain its previous rate of 0.84 percent, and not the 8.17 percent rate which the DOC previously announced.

Imports of these products are currently classifiable under the following Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) subheadings: 7306.30.10.00, 7306.30.50.25, 7306.30.50.32, 7306.30.50.40, 7306.30.50.55, 7306.30.50.85, and 7306.30.50.90.
