According to Russian newspaper of Nov. 15, Russia will finish its accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) by the summer of 2012.

In the wake of its access, the country will cut its ad-valorem tariff on new cars from 30% down to 25%. From the 4th year, there will be 2.5 percentage points cut off yearly, and by 2019’s summer, the tariff will be down to 15%.

Regarding used cars (3-7 years old), in 2012, their import tariff will be down to 25% from 35%, and 5 years later, down to 20% in 2 years; their specific tariff will reduce from 1.2-2.8 euros to 0.7-1.6 euros per milliliter displacement.

It is reported that such tariff reductions exclude over-7-years-old used cars, which are under a prohibitive tariff of 2.5-5.8 euros per ml. displacement (without ad-valorem tariff).
