Turkish Steel Exporters' vp Slams EU Anti-dumping Probe into Tube, Pipe Exports

There are no grounds for a European Commission anti-dumping investigation on welded tubes, pipes and hollow sections from Turkey, according to Serdar Kocturk, vp with the Turkish Steel Exporters' Assn.

"This investigation, initiated against Turkish pipe manufacturers for their exports to the EU, is not fair and is surely against European Community interests," Kocturk said in a statement emailed to Metal Bulletin on Wednesday April 11. "Turkey exported 292,689 tonnes of pipe to the EU in 2011. However, our pipe imports from the EU were 283,000 tonnes," he added.
