Dollar Edges Down to Mid-89 yen in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar edged down to mid-89 yen range after briefly fell into the lower-89 yen territory in the morning.
At 5 p.m., the dollar fetched 89.49-52 yen against Thursday's 5p.m. quotes of 89.97-90.07 yen in New York and 90.22-23 yen in Tokyo.
It moved between 89.21 yen and 90.15 yen, changing hands most frequently at 89.60 yen.
The euro traded at 1.2893-2896 dollars and 115.40-44 yen compared with 1.2951-2961 dollars and 116.53-63 yen in New York, and 1.3080-3082 dollars and 118.01-05 yen in Tokyo late Thursday.
