China’s Major Machinery Product Output Grows Steadily

(July 18)--Based on the latest news from the 5,257 above-scale general-purpose machinery manufacturers that participated in the survey carried out by the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first five months of 2008, the general-purpose machinery industry manufactured 21.7073 million pumps, 1.7237 million wind turbines, 12.2172 million compressors, 933,100t of valves, 1.2138 million retarders and transformers as well as 10,519 separation machines, with the outputs rising by 17.76%, 34.46%, 40.23%, 27.05%, 18.53% and 11.22% year-on-year respectively.
