African Coffee Manufacturers Aim at Chinese Market

Based on Business Day, with rapid development of Chinese economy and constant improvement of national consumption level, China has been aimed at by coffee manufacturers of African countries including Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia to be the new increase market. It was reported that Chinese traditional drink is tea and coffee market still lies in the stage of a minority of consumption. At present, annual consumption of Chinese mainland coffee reaches about 40,000 tons, which is far lower that of mature markets such as the Europe and the US, but it grows dramatically, with an average annual growth rate of 10%-15%. It was reported that cultivation of Japanese coffee consumption market took 40 years while it may take China only 10-15 years to go through the process, when the market commences to grow rapidly, the Africa will benefit from it.
