58.62 Billion USD Worth Goods Found Unqualified by AQSIQ Last Year

Last year the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) paid more attention to the quality inspection and quarantine of imports and exports and found 108,000 batches of unqualified goods in total, worth 58.62 billion USD. Wang Yong, Minister of AQSIQ, said that AQSIQ intercepted and seized 2,554 types of harmful living things in 182,000 cases, 18 types of poisonous or hazardous substances in 545 cases, and discovered 380,000 cases of various diseases, of which 7,800 were contagious.
