Chinese Shares Open 2.08% Lower on Feb. 18

Chinese shares opened 2.08 percent lower on Wednesday, after the market fell almost 3 percent Tuesday, the largest daily plunge this year.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index declined 48.18 points to open at 2271.26 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index on the smaller Shenzhen bourse was down 178.26 points to open at 8,282.9 points.
