Suzuki pulls out of 2009 North American Auto Show in Michigan

Suzuki Motor has pulled out of the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, saying the space offered did not meet its needs.

The Japanese auto-maker, beginning a new-product push, will instead devote its efforts to other shows and events.

"For this year, we felt that we'd concentrate on some more regional shows and allocate our marketing dollars in a more personal, direct way at those shows," said Suzuki spokesman Jeff Holland.

"With any show, space and location are a consideration. That was part of the business decision."
