TURKEY: Textiles and apparel exports reach $ 1.5 bn[23'Jan 2007]

BURSA: The value of textiles and apparel exports from the northwestern city of Bursa reached 1.5 billion USD; data of the Uludag Exporters` Unions revealed.

 

According to data, the textiles and apparel exports from Bursa had been 578.8 million USD with an increase of 7,2 percent in 2006.

In textile sector goods were exported to 9 free zones 116 countries and autonomous areas while in apparel sector goods were exported to 7 free zones and 98 countries and autonomous zones.

Germany, Russian Federation, Romania, Italy and England were the countries where most of exports from Bursa were directed to.

The companies in the city exported textiles and ready-made-clothing to nine free zones and 106 countries in this period.

The ready-made garment export from Bursa is one of the foremost centers of the sector.
