Volvo Construction Equipment Dealer, Mathews Machinery, Inc., Merges with Volvo Construction

Volvo Construction Equipment-owned dealer, Mathews Machinery, Inc., Lakeside, California, has merged its business operations with Volvo CE's company-owned dealership Volvo Construction Equipment & Services (VCES) in California to increase the effectiveness of Volvo construction equipment sales and customer service in the state.

Mathews, the authorized dealer for Volvo CE in California since 2002, was acquired by Volvo CE in early 2008. The VCES dealer operation was established by Volvo CE in 2007. This newly-organized Volvo CE dealer network in California will operate under the VCES name with eight strategically-placed branches in Los Angeles, San Diego, the San Francisco bay area, Fresno, Livermore, Bakersfield, Corona, and Sacramento.

Tom Younger, former president of Mathews and the new president of VCES in California, is pleased with the decision. "Over the years, Mathews has established positive relationships with our customers, focusing on providing excellent customer service to every customer. By becoming part of the VCES family, we will now be able to better serve customers with expanded locations and more service trucks in the field. VCES has been a successful dealer in this business for nearly half a century. The partnering is a great fit and will allow us to further concentrate on what we do best, taking care of the customer."

Mathews Machinery, Inc., has provided equipment and services to aggregate, demolition, recycling, agriculture, road construction and civil engineering customers and will continue to serve these markets under the VCES name. Additionally, Mathews brings several brand names to Volvo Construction Equipment & Services making VCES the exclusive California dealer for Stanley LaBounty attachments, Dressta crawler dozers, and Champion motor graders.

Volvo Construction Equipment & Services has been a construction equipment dealer for nearly 50 years, offering equipment, parts, service, and rental opportunities. The merger with Mathews also brings the full Volvo product line ¨C wheel loaders, articulated haulers, motor graders, Blaw-Knox pavers, compactors, compact equipment and excavators ¨C into the one-company operation. VCES remains the authorized Doosan dealer for Ingersoll-Rand portable power products, such as generators, air compressors, and light towers. VCES now has twenty (20) branch locations nationally.
