Brilliance Auto to Start Production at New Plant

Chinese fast-growing carmaker Brilliance Auto will start production at its new A-segment car plant, which will have an annual capacity of 150,000 units, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.
 
After construction is completed the company will build three A-segment car models, including sedans, Crossover models on the FRV platform, the report said.
 
The automaker unveiled two self-developed sedan models, the Zhonghua Junjie Wagon and the 2009 Zhonghua Zunchi, which are separately priced at 108,000-159,800 yuan and 125,800-249,800 yuan at the beginning of this month.
 
Brilliance Auto ended 2008 with sales revenue of 41 billion yuan ($6 billion). Full-year sales declined 5 percent to 285,119 vehicles, marking the first drop in Brilliance Auto's 16 years' history, according to Brilliance Auto Chairman Qi Yumin.
 
The automaker expects to boost sales to 300,000 units in 2009 by expanding production lines and launching new models.
