Sharp to Plan New LCD Production Center Construction

Sharp announced that the company is planning to construct new LCD production center in Sakai, Japan until March, 2010. The newly established facility will produce 10G LCD Panel, Solar Cell and components for LCD panel production.

Sharp Electronics President, Doug Koshima emphasized that the new facility will be 21st century combined production center and 10G glass substrate for the first time in the industry. Koshima added that the solar cell production capacity in this factory is larger than any large facility in Europe or the US.
