Manitowoc Expands Team in Singapore and India

Manitowoc has announced several new additions to its tower crane sales team for the Asia-Pacific region. The six new personnel will help Manitowoc provide more focused customer interaction throughout the region for its Potain brand.

John Stewart, Manitowoc's senior vice president for Asia (outside China) and also general manager for the company's Singapore operations, said the new appointments will allow Manitowoc to increase its focus on both new and existing customers in Asia.

"The addition of these experienced and well-qualified team members to our sales force has positioned us to cover our customer base and develop new relationships in the region," he said. "Our expanded team will help us grow and become even stronger in Asia-Pacific. The new team members all have strong experience that will help them provide the service and customer care that Manitowoc customers expect."

The most recent of the new appointments is Victor Chan who is appointed to the position of sales director of tower cranes for Asia-Pacific (outside China). He will provide sales leadership to the Singapore office and will report to John Stewart. He most recently worked at tire company Trelleborg SEA Pte. Ltd., and prior to that spent 14 years at Ingersoll Rand in a variety of roles, working in new markets and developing dealer networks. Chan is based at the Manitowoc office in Singapore.

Manitowoc has also appointed two new regional sales managers, both who will be based out of the Singapore office and who will report to Victor Chan. The two new appointments join Peter Choong who has been at Manitowoc for the past year working as a regional sales manager for Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and major account Manta Equipment in Singapore.

First of the new appointments is Steven Ng, who has rejoined Manitowoc as regional sales manager for tower cranes in Asia-Pacific (outside China). He has previously worked with Manitowoc in a similar capacity, and will primarily develop and maintain sales potential for tower cranes within his assigned territory which includes Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and some customers in Singapore.

The second new appointment is Joseph Chin who is also appointed as regional sales manager for tower cranes for Asia-Pacific (outside China). His territory will consist of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Bangladesh and some customers in Singapore. Prior to joining Manitowoc, he worked for lifting equipment company Crown Equipment Singapore Pte Ltd., as a sales executive. He has four years of experience with electrical, electronics and heavy machinery industries.

In India, there are three new appointments to the tower crane sales force. Raman Joshi, vice president of Potain India Pvt. Ltd., said the new additions would strengthen Manitowoc's growing presence in India.

"With our new sales office in New Delhi and the strengthening of our operations in Pune, we need experienced and capable people to help us develop our presence in India," he said. "We are delighted to welcome people of the caliber of Ashwani, Prashant and Amol to our tower crane team; and also Prem to our mobile crane team."

Ashwani Mattoo has been appointed to the position of national sales manager for tower cranes. He was most recently a regional manager for construction equipment manufacturer Terex Vectra, where he was in charge of marketing, sales, service and parts. He also managed a team of sales and service professionals. He will report to Raman Joshi and works out of the Manitowoc office in Pune.

Two regional sales managers will also join the sales team and will report to Mattoo. The first is Prashant Gujjar, who is appointed regional sales manager for Delhi. Prior to joining Manitowoc he worked for ICIC Banks in its construction equipment financing division as a state head for the Madhya Pradesh region. He is based at Manitowoc's office in New Delhi.

Second of the new appointments is Amol Badgujar, another regional sales manager for tower cranes with responsibility for the Western region of India. Prior to joining Manitowoc he worked as marketing manager at Jianglu Cranes, with responsibilities for marketing, sales and business development. He is based at Manitowoc's office in Pune.

Manitowoc has also increased its mobile and crawler cranes sales team with the addition of Prem Naithani, who is national sales manager for mobile and crawler cranes in India. Prior to joining Manitowoc, he spent time with Indian rental company ABG Cranes as a regional sales manager and at Bharat Earth Movers Limited as sales and business development manager. Naithani brings more than 16 years of knowledge on Indian construction industry, local business practices, and dealer management experience. He will be based in Manitowoc's Delhi office and will report to Raman Joshi.
