China Continue Elimination of Backward Cement Capacity

Chinese government will continue its large elimination of outdated industrial facilities in 2009 in order to save energy and reduce pollution against climate change.
China aims to eliminate old capacity in several industries including 10 million of ironmaking industry, 6 million of steel industry and 50 million of cement industry.
The meeting also mentioned that china will implement more measures, such as stricter regulations on environmental and energy efficiency assessments, limitation of expansion of industries which consume more energy and release population. Also, the central and local government will raise investment energy efficiency projects.
Its goal of energy consumption reduction will be 20% of pre CNY 10,000 of GDP from 2006 to 2010.
