Samplitude Music Studio is a full-featured software solution forrecording, editing and mixing audio tracks. It's easy to use andfollows three simple steps:



Download and record

You can download CD tracks, MP3 songs, wave files, videosoundtracks, or sounds & samples from the hard disk, the CD ROMdrive, or the Internet. You can even make your own recordings froma stereo system or with a microphone. Everything you download orrecord is displayed as an object on the Arranger's tracks.



Arrange and edit

Basically, all tracks stacked virtually above each other will beplayed simultaneously, and everything that follows horizontallywill be played in subsequent order. However, you can mute theobjects stacked above each other.



Every object – that is, every sound, every song – canbe cut up or have effects added. For example, if you want toshorten a song, move the object with your mouse to the length atwhich you would like the song to be – done! Want to freshenup your sound? Then open the equalizer and either select a presetthat fits, or modify your sound "by hand".



Arranging and editing is essentially all about cutting, blending,adding, mixing effects, and placing audio material into the rightpositions and into the right tracks. But it's also about play andexperimentation. If it fits, throw it in! Without experimentationthere is no innovation. Samplitude Music Studio 2008 allows you toexperiment, and experiment wildly. There's no risk of your audiomaterial being damaged. All editing functions are"non-destructive".



Export and use

Regardless of what you're experimenting with, in the end somethingusable should come out of it. Samplitude Music Studio 2008 haseverything you need to make it:

· For MIDI recordings and editing you can use thecomprehensive MIDI Editor with Piano Roll, Drum Editor,Velocity/Controller Editor, and Event List.



· The recording of MIDI objects can be started directly fromthe Arranger by setting the recording mode in the track box toMIDI.



High-end 32-bit floating point:

· All sound changes are executed using 32-bit floating pointcalculation for especially differentiated and high-quality sounds.This technology is also used in professional studios. This way, anaudio picture with especially high dynamics can be created. Digitalovermodulation and clipping become virtually impossible.



24-bit playout & native editing:

· High-resolution, 24-bit sound has now become the standardfor audio cards and sound samples. Samplitude Music Studio alsosupports these files in the presence of the relevant hardwarewithout having to calculate down to 16-bit in real time, which usedto be the case.



MAGIX Jam Session automation:

· The Auto Jam Session lets you create complete songssingle-handedly. The program simulates working with hardware"looping delays", like the Gibson Echoplex. The difference is thatSamplitude Music Studio creates an arrangement which can later beedited and compiled into a complete song.



Manager & explorer:

· A project-related manager set for managing objects, tracks,ranges, and markers enables efficient administration, archiving,and management of all project contents and data directly from theworking environment without the diversions of Windows. It featureselegant drag & drop and search & find functions.



Track editor:

· The track editor to the left of the arrangement windowenables access to all important parameters of the selected track.Record and monitoring status, volume, panorama, MIDI/audio in andoutputs, plug-ins, AUX sends, and EQ settings are displayed inwell-arranged sections and can also be edited in this view. Youwill instantly see all relevant settings of the correspondingtrack.



· You can open the track editor via the corresponding trackbutton at the bottom of the VIP below the workspace selectionbutton or via the menu "Window -> Track editor".

· The Remix Agent is the ideal tool for producing DJ & LiveMixes. It automatically recognizes the beat of MP3 or audio CDs andedits it as loops precisely accordingly. Simply drag songs into thearranger; remixing has never been simpler! The recognized beats canbe used to quickly form a base for a comprehensive remix.



Track freezing:

· Entire tracks (including all track and object effects) canbe frozen, meaning that tracks can be bounced and replaced by anobject in the VIP to free up valuable computing power. If a trackneeds some extra work, "un-freezing" is a breeze.
