Development of mass production technology on the multi-crystal silicon ingot for solar battery of 450kg level

Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) and Glosil Inc. have successfully developed the next generation technology to manufacture fifth generation ingot of 450kg as a result of the task performance of new recycled energy technology and development project under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. Current massive production of wafer has its main type in 125mm size produced from 300kg ingot, and the 450kg ingot succeeded in development from KRICT and Glosil Inc. is the technology to manufacture  156~200mm wafer with the improvement of 40% or more for productivity. Glosil Inc. has the plan to apply the mass production technology and furnace coating technology on the production site immediately, and after 2010 when the demand and supply of silicon raw material for solar battery would be taken care of, the demand for multi-crystal silicon ingot growth would be increased exponentially with the hundreds of billions of equipment import replacement effect and export effect in the future.
