Just after China loosened control on steel exports, the US industry sources asked the Chinese side in a statement not to encourage exports of cheap steel by providing export rebates and subsidies for its producers and demand the US government to take active measures to deal with the situation. China cancelled export duties on most steel products last week, triggering the complaints from the US. Days after the duty withdraw move, the US said it would impose 35.6 percent to 40 percent of countervailing duties against welded pipe imported from China. Experts claim that China will face more investigations and sanctions unless it ceases exporting in large quantity to a single country at one time.
