Mining projects are finding it more difficult to secure funds as many sectors have been caught up by the financial crisis, a senior official from IFC said at the China Mining Expo. The mining industry should draw three lessons from the current financial upheaval. 1.    The business cycle of bulk commodities should be taken into consideration. 2. It is difficult to predicate a short-term price movement in the process of an economic downturn. 3. Investors and governments should be reminded that the driving force of the mining investment depends on minerals’ quantity, location, existing items and public infrastructure.
