India to Give Preferential Tariff to Chilean Goods

Reported by a Chilean newspaper of August 8, Chile and India has finished their fifth round of negotiation on mutual trade preference agreement (AAP) expansion in New Delhi, India, with bilateral trade volume expected to surge in the future.

From January to May, the bilateral trade volume allegedly rose 45% year-on-year.

Through the fifth round of negotiation, there will be 1,100 Chilean-made goods, rising from current 178, to enjoy Indian preferential tariffs that are to reduce by 50% on average, taking stronger competitiveness on the Indian market.

By the end of August, they will end their negotiations in whole with the completion in terms of technical barriers, goods inspection and quarantine.
