India to Levy Sugar Export Duty and Quit Import Duty

According to India's government insiders, because of drought effect on short sugar yield, the Indian government plans to levy sugar export duty and revoke 10% sugar import duty in order to curb sugar outflow and price uptrend in the country.

The government also intends to add 500,000 tons of sugar supply to its domestic market in August.
