India to Lower Galvanized Goods Export Duties

[2013-03-08 14:23:59]

PChidambaram, finance minister of India, indicated that the government will exempt the export tariff on some galvanized products, from which Indian sheet makers will benefit.

At present, yearly output of galvanized sheets in India is 4 million tons, but its international competitiveness is weak because an export tariff of 7.5% is levied.

It is predicted that the galvanized products will rise in their price competitiveness in international market after the export tariff is reduced to zero, along with a rising export quantity.
