The U.S. to Initiate Anti-Circumvention Investigation into Glycine from China

On Oct. 28, 2010, the United States Department of Commerce released an Announcement, deciding to initiate an anti-circumvention investigation into glycine upon the application by GEO Specialty Chemicals and Chattem Chemicals.

The applicants accused 3 enterprises in India of completing the final processing on glycine products imported from China and pasting the label of Indian origin to export to the U.S., the behavior made the U.S. anti-dumping measures on Chinese glycine products circumvented.

The United States Department of Commerce issued on Mar. 29, 1995 the anti-dumping measures on China’s exports of glycine products to the U.S., deciding to levy an anti-dumping duty of 155.89%.
