U.S. Initial AD Ruling on South Korean Large Power Transformers

On Feb. 10, 2012, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced its preliminary anti-dumping (AD) ruling on large-scale power transformers originating from South Korea (see the table below).

According to U.S. procedures, the Department will make the final anti-dumping ruling in July 2012, and the U.S. International Trade Commission will put forward a final industrial injury ruling thereof on August 21, 2012; then based on affirmative rulings, the Department will levy relevant anti-dumping duties.

On Aug. 3, 2011, requested by ABB Inc., Delta Star Inc. and Pennsylvania Transformer Technologies, Inc., the Department launched the anti-dumping probe on those Korean products under HS Codes 8504.23.0040, 8504.23.0080 and 8504.90.9540.
