Ajinomoto North America Seeks Probe on China Monosodium Glutamate

On September 16, Ajinomoto North America Inc., representing USA enterprises, requested in writing U.S. Commerce Department and International Trade Commission to conduct antidumping and anti-subsidy probes into the Monosodium Glutamate from China and Indonesia.

The monosodium glutamate, also known as the gourmet powder, is a common food additive.

According to Ajinomoto North America's statement, the export of monosodium glutamate from China to the USA reached USD 40.24 million for 2012 and USD 18.12 million for January-June 2013.
