[2010-11-08 16:04:03]

On Oct. 13, 2010, the EU anti-dumping Advisory Committee (ADC) held a meeting at which the European Commission's taxation proposal was discussed and passed concerning the anti-dumping case into the melamine & polyester chips from China.

It is reported that the European Commission refused to grant Chinese melamine enterprises involved the market economy treatment and considered that Chinese enterprises were dumping their products, which caused material injury to the European industry. Thus the European Commission plans to impose provisional anti-dumping duties ranging from 40% to 50%.

The meeting also decided to maintain the current EU anti-dumping measures on polyester chips from China, imposing the anti-dumping duties by quantity of EUR 184 per ton, keeping valid for five years.
