In a statement, Tadano was upbeat about the prospects for cranes, and said that is shortfalls were due to falling truck loader cranes and aerial work platforms. It was downbeat about the entire company's sales prospects to March next year. It predicted full fiscal year sales to the end of March 2009 barely double its latest quarterly results, JPY 178bn. This figure is up only 2 percent compared with the same period in 2007-8. It also predicts net profits for the full fiscal year to be down 21 percent compared with 2007-8 to only JPY9.2bn.
