Maderas Golf Course San Diego : Hole 5, Par 4

This par 4 is the most challenging hole at Maderas! A carefully placed drive is a must on this dogleg guarded on the left by three enormous bunkers and a hazard running down the entire fairway. Try a long iron or fairway wood on the second shot into this very difficult green and avoid missing the green to the right.

This delicate par four presents numerous options. Have a go at the green or play two conservative shots to the green. The Riperian basin forces a carry of 200 yards to the fairway that slopes from left to right bringing the bunkers into play. Check the flagstick location and avoid the deep bunker on the right side of the green.

This demanding par three is not for the faint of heart. The tee shot is all about carry yardage and confidence. Choose your club wisely and go with it. There is room to bail out on the front left only. The green slopes from back to front with ridges dividing the green into three sections. Even a good tee shot will not guarantee a par.

Risk/Reward at its finest! It's possible to reach the green in two if you choose to gamble and attempt to carry the lake while also negotiating the trees. Most will chose a fairway wood or long iron off the tee and try to place the second shot within short iron range. A severe bunker complex protects the green.
