Denizli, a small industrial city situated in southwestern Turkey, exported textile goods and garments to about 110 nations last year. Rasit Guntas, Head of Denizli Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Union (DETKIB), informed the media that exports would be raised 15 percent this year.

Textile and apparel exports in 2006 generated profit of US $1.5 billion for the city, which was up 6.57 percent from 2005. But this figure is still short of expectations according to Guntas.

Although Far East nations were competing in textiles during last few years, city took inspiration from China in conducting export trade. Denizli’s businessmen now understand consumer needs better.
