Introduction
Yining Border Economic
Cooperation Zone was established in 1992, and
authorized by the State Council as a national
border zone. It is located in Yining city.
The Zone has attracted an investment
commitment of over RMB 110 million (USD 13.30
million). More than 95 enterprises have been
established in the Zone, with most of them
engaging in export-oriented trade, textile, wine
brewing, paper manufacturing, pharmaceuticals,
construction materials, forestry and tourism.
By the end of 2005, industrial output of the
Zone is expected to reach RMB 200 million (USD
24.1 million), while total export volume will
reach USD 5.42 million.
The city of Yining lies at the center of Yili
River Valley, against the backdrop of Kegurqin
Mountains and facing the Yili River towards the
south. Yining city is a beautiful city. The
suburban areas resemble huge gardens, with poplar
and apple trees everywhere.
