'Hoperise' benefitted from nanotech

Though nanotechnology is being widely used in various walks of life, there is no application in the garment sector. Nano clothes are dubbed "green garments" with environmental-friendly features.

It has been learnt from the ongoing Canton Fair that a textile business from East China's Fujian Province has taken the lead in applying nanotechnology in its manufacturing.

The Quanzhou Hoperise Textiles Co., Ltd. said, by making technology breakthrough, it has created a brand new mode in its production of outdoor leisure garments by using nanotechnology.

"Nowadays when garment products, especially men's wear, are becoming more homogeneous, how to forge one's own brand is of vital importance to an enterprise,"

said Hoperise's general manager Zhang Ruibiao.

"Nanotechnology is the secret weapon for Hoperise," he said.

The Hong Kong-funded enterprise, set up in 1989, has now grown into an export-oriented business integrating R&D, production and marketing, and employs a group of outstanding designers and more than 1,000 skilled workers.

Zhang noted that although a set of nano sports wear costs $10 more than an ordinary one, many European purchasers to the fair have expressed their interests.

A German buyer said: "Nanotechnology has provided unlimited extension features to garments. I believe German consumers will be fond of this product."

In a globalized world, brand competition has become the focus of market competition, Zhang said.

"The most important reason for Hoperise to grow into a well-known enterprise with an annul export of $50 million within 20 years, I think, is the common view we've come to see: Creating sustainable competitiveness is the focus for us to stay ahead for a long time,"he said.

Zhang affirmed they will sharpen Hoperise's brand competitiveness by centering on a concept of "nano clothes."

To enhance the density of turning nnovation achievements to roduction, he said, Hoperise lans to cooperate with a Taiwan high-tech fi rm to set up a Nano clothes industrialization R&D center, which will help elevate the key competitiveness of his enterprise and brand.

Zhang emphasized that with their independent innovation and leading technology, his company have won a stable market share and its sales keep growing.
