??The Current leather processing trade policies is likely to be continued????said Lei Jianzhong??the official of Ministry of Commerce in recently held 2008 Chinese leather industry development forum??while replying the questions to participants he released this news.
In September??2006 Ministry of Commerce??the General Administration of Customs??State Administration of Environmental Protection made an adjustment on the policies of hides and skins processing trade??according to the document of No. 390??if the hides and skins were processed into leather goods (leather shoes??clothing??handbags and sofa??etc.) and than exported the processing trade for hides and skins will be effected until to December 31??2008. Now time is coming up for the ending of processing trade??it has become common issues for leather sector whether it will be continued after the document expiration.
For this reason Lei Jianzhong made a remark on issue??and said we should have clear-minded that industrial polices should confirm with national development program??leather making belongs to high energy and pollution industry??the industry should enhance on environmental protection??before new polices issued the current one will be still implemented.
