Diolen industrial PET yarns

Traction Partners of Amsterdam has acquired Diolen Industrial Fibers, one of Europe’s largest producers of polyester fibres with production sites in the Netherlands and Germany.

The acquisition will allow Diolen to develop further as a high-quality player on the growing market for technical polyester fibers.

Kees van Oostenrijk has been appointed chief executive of Diolen and succeeds Eric Tierie, who will leave Diolen in late January 2008 as a result of differences in respect of the policies to be pursued. Mr Oostenrijk has extensive experience in innovation and change management in areas including the rubber and plastics industries.

Traction Partners is a hands-on investment company said to play an active role in helping mid-size companies focus on growth and further improvements in performance.

Diolen, a former subsidiary company of Acordis, manufactures high-tenacity Diolen PET yarns, Diofort PPS yarns and high-quality chips of various polymers. Diolen yarns are used to build and strengthen a wide variety of industrial applications where safety and reliability are key factors, including tyres, seatbelts, tarpaulins, billboards, roofing constructions, hoses and mooring ropes.
