The first Wind Energy Farm was set up and put into operation in Dali of Yunnan.

"Windy City" Dali City hold the ceremony of the wind electric field  operating on December 6 in Dali, the first wind electric field has completed in Dali city , Baizu Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province.

The area has  installed  78.75MW capacity with design gross investment of 9. 3 hundred million yuan, and has installed 105 sets wind machines, the annual output of generated electricity has reached 143,620,000 kwh, it will be possible to save at least 46000 tons of standard coal every year.

It is reported that Yunnan province is rich in wind energy resources.The total resources reserves of 123,000,000 KW, wind energy resources available area are 45,200 square kilometers, accounting for 11.48% of  total land area .According to planning of " wind energy resource appraisal report " ,  there are 13 wind electric field altogether in Yun'nan province , and  the total installed capacity is up to 1,341,000 kilowatts.
