DSM Composite Resins and B?FA Reaktionsharze announce strategic cooperation

DSM Composite Resins AG and B?FA GmbH & Co. KG today announce their intention to start up a strategic cooperation. This cooperation will be shaped into two joint venture agreements. One company will be focused on combining their European businesses in gelcoats, bonding pastes, pigment pastes and fire retardants. The other will create a Pan European distributor focused on the composite industry by combining both companies' existing European distribution activities into one enterprise. Both joint ventures will be headquartered in Germany.
The cooperation is expected to go into effect per January 2009 subject to approval of the competent authorities. "B?FA is one of Europe's biggest suppliers of resin specialities in the composite market" says J?rgen Aurer , Managing Director B?FA Reaktionsharze GmbH & Co. KG. "The heart of our activities is the modern production facility in Rastede, North Germany. The key competences of B?FA and DSM are very complementary. Operating in a common business structure will allow us to offer an optimal portfolio of high quality gelcoats, fire retardant products, bonding pastes and pigment pastes to our customers".
