China to carry on market pricing mechanism for coal: NDRC

    China will carry on the market pricing mechanism for coal in 2009, said Liu Tienan, vice minister of the National Development and Reform Commission　(NDRC) Monday, which analysts say indicates the temporary price ceiling limit imposed earlier has been removed.



Earlier on June 19 and July 24, NDRC issued two documents to set ceilings on coal prices in order to rein the surge of coal price since the beginning of the year. Coal price has fallen sharply since late September, which makes it unnecessary to further implement the price limit policy.



At present, the market price of coal is far lower than the price limit set then.
