$2 Million Famous Designer Buyout Arrives at Value City

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept 18, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Beginning this week, a $2 million buyout of misses\' sportswear and career fashions by one of America\'s best-known female designers arrives at Value City stores.

The buyout comes from the fall collection of a designer who is celebrated for her classic, versatile designs. The sweaters, knit tops, pants, jackets and skirts -- including suede and leather -- are priced at just $9.99 to $19.99.

Comparable items in department stores sell for $39 to $129 and up, but Value City offers this fine apparel at savings of 25 to 77 percent, allowing savvy shoppers to refresh their fall wardrobes without breaking budgets already squeezed by rising gas and food prices. Because of these huge discounts, Value City cannot advertise the name of the designer. However, her collections are carried by most major department stores.

Selection varies by store, quantities are limited and new stock arrives frequently, so Value City urges shoppers to stop by early and often to get the best deals. For example, a few lucky shoppers have an opportunity to snap up high-fashion leather jackets for just $34.99.

In today\'s challenging economy, Value City is using its extensive buying expertise and wide industry connections to obtain the best closeouts, liquidations and buyouts of quality, name-brand apparel, furniture, linens, home decor and housewares. The stores then pass the savings on to customers, who can buy the same fine merchandise seen in malls, department stores and online retailers at an average savings of 30 to 70 percent.
