600 VAC Towable Generators Arrive in Quebec, Canada

Baldor Towable generators are a leader in the rental/construction industry in many regions of the United States. Luc Gagnon, generator sales consultant for Baldor Montreal says that the Towable generator product line is just too good not to be a leader in Canada and the Montreal team is already talking with customers about that.

Baldor Montreal?s assistant DM, Stephane Dery, points out that customers appreciate the "easy-to-use" features when these units are placed at the jobsite, "?These full-featured units provide reliable power and customers prefer them because of their reliability and their versatility, durability and safety features." Our customer in Timmins, Ontario said he likes the Baldor towables because they are self-contained, "?tow to any jobsite or emergency, place the unit in a good spot, connect the load and start it up. It is that simple to use," says Gordon Labine with Sunrise Rentals.

In the Province of Quebec, Montreal?s team works with a customer who uses Baldor Towable generators in many applications: construction, waterworks, recreation, and as an emergency back-up power system. "In Canada, we needed application specific 600-volt units for our rental fleet and working with the Baldor Montreal Office, we?ve ordered from the factory several custom units for us in different power ratings but all at 600- volts," says Michel Turgeon of Moteur Du Cuivre in Val D'Or, who chose Baldor because of their short lead-times and superior product support.

"Not only could Baldor produce the 600-volt generators to our specification, but they could get each of our orders CSA certified and labeled at the time of the order," explained Stephane. "We have ordered 9 units so far: 2 x TS25, 3 x TS45 (600-volts), 2 x TS130 (600-volts) and 2 TS250 (600-volts). We coordinated the CSA inspection with the factory which was done a few short days before the units shipped to Canada."

"It is not necessary to change the engine size when doing the 600-volt designs for Canada. Baldor uses a 600-volt rated alternator and removes the voltage selector switch. Normally, the units have a selectable voltage switch but since they are single voltage the voltage selector switch is removed from the control panel. Other changes involve replacing the meters with those that read higher voltages and re-sizing the current sensors in the control box. When completed this makes a very nice unit, which the customer is proud to receive from Baldor. We?ve recorded quite a few rentals so far, and we expect to bring this business to a high level in Eastern Canada," says Montreal?s DM, David Haines.

Baldor?s broad line of generators continues to lead the industry with choices of diesel, gaseous and gasoline designs in ratings from 1.1kW to 2000kW. Many different kW ratings are available from stock and Baldor can design and build a generator to meet exact applications with our short lead-time.
