    Textile and Apparel Production Strengthens In June

    Beijing CNCotton:January through June,domestic textile output totaled 891.6 billion yuan, reflecting a 26.5 percent year-on-year growth; consumption rate recorded 96.63 percent,up 0.59 percent from year ago level.

    Import sanctions by U.S. and EU caused domestic textile and apparel sector to accelerate export.Yarn production in June reached 1.24 million tons,representing a year-on-year expansion of 23.2 percent. January through June yarn production surged 23 percent to 6.30 million tons. Cumulative January through June polyester production reached 7.38 million tons, representing an 8 percent year-on-year growth,June production also increased 11.2 percent.Apparel production during January through June period reached 6.37 billion pieces,reflecting an 18.4 percent year-on-year expansion.
