US concern Goodrich has entered the Mielecka Special Economic Zone. "The company collected the permit last week. Goodrich is obliged to create at least 250 jobs and invest ZL131 million by the end of 2012," said Mariusz Bledowski, head of Euro-Park Mielec. However, it is said that when applying for the grant, the company said it would invest ZL229.6 million and create 300 jobs and these could be the final parameters of the project. "The company will build a factory in the sub-zone Trzebownisko, near the airport in Rzeszow. Construction will start next year," said Bledowski. The factory will produce mainly undercarriages for passenger planes. Goodrich already operates in Krosno, where it also produces undercarriages and employs 400 people. It is one of Goodrich's six factories outside the US. Goodrich's annual revenue amounts to $6.4 billion.
