Vero Software Celebrates 20th Anniversary (Tool-moldmaking.com)

Vero Software plc completed its 20th year of existence on October 27, having been formed on that date in 1988 in a farmhouse in northern Italy. The founders and two employees produced the original CAD/CAM software at that time. Today, the UK public company headquartered in Cheltenham and with offices in Italy, France, the USA, Canada, Japan, and China is a leading supplier of software to the mould and die sector.

The Vero Group now has more than 7,000 users registered for its annual maintenance services, and it supplies products to more than 40 countries through its wholly owned subsidiaries and competence centres.

Offering well known product brands such as VISI, machiningStrategist, SMIRT, and PEPS, the company produces software for aiding the design and manufacturing process in such industry sectors as plastic injection moulds, sheet-metal stamping dies, multiaxis machining, progressive dies, shoe moulds, and electrode production.

“Twenty years ago, PC-based multiaxis machining and plastics flow analysis was unthinkable, and yet today these same technologies provide everyday benefits to tens of thousands of our users,” remarks Gerry O’Driscoll, research and development director of Vero and one of the original founders. “Our sustained success and uninterrupted growth has been achieved by building very practical solutions based on the comments and suggestions of active customers.”

As Don Babbs, Vero’s chief executive and another founder, says, “Very few companies achieve the satisfaction of growing their revenues every year since inception and being around 20 years later when most of the so-called giants in the sector have long disappeared. The ever present skill and dedication of our staff, many themselves very long-serving, have built the Vero Software company to where it is today.”

In conjunction with the 20th anniversary, Vero announces the latest release of its flagship product, VISI. VISI Version 16 is a substantial release with many new features in all areas of the software, including an updated user interface, new surface modelling technology, 3D bend development, and multiple enhancements to both 2D and 3D CAM.
