The Chinese Export Commodities Fair(CECF), one of the most important sourcing shows held in South China, had recorded a drop of 6.4% in garment ordrer compared woth the pervious edition, show's organizing committee said here on October 21.
During the five-day fair that ended on October 20,exhibitors from the gament industry cited that there were fewer visitors in the garment hall and the buyers from the US and the EU region were more conservative about placing new orders.
Both the US and the EU garment market were shadowed by uncertainties in export quotas and the buyers from these two regions were placing small-batch orders to reduce risks, said Cao Xinyu,Depute Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce for Import& Export of Texitiles.
Despite the pessimism in garment trade, the fabric order saw and increase of 2% at the show. The buyers were mostly from strong garment-exporting regions.
